A Couple of Reviews
Don't do this too often, so bear with me on this. I watched a couple of things on Disney+ over the weekend, one was because it was driving me crazy, the other was out of CURIOUSITY (hint hint). Might have a couple spoilers in it so be warned. First is Turning Red which is about a 13-year-old Asian/Canadian girl named Mei who is able to turn into a giant red panda whenever she feels strong emotions due to her mother's side of her family having a connection with red pandas since ancient times. And yes, I'm well aware how it's basically an hour long metaphor for puberty, especially for girls. Kinda weird that it talks a LOT about the big red mess women go through each month, yet I can't help but notice how bold it was to talk about it in a kid's movie of all things. Didn't quite like how Mei's mom was constantly paranoid about her to the point where she doesn't seem to think how the things she does humiliates her. Like going up to the guy she's crushing on and showing him her fantasy
